I’ve been wrestling with why people make bad decisions - and I include myself. This newsletter is intended to help me think through the mechanics, influences, and pitfalls of the thought process using a few different topics. I hope this undertaking will be valuable to you as well.
A bit about me - I have lived in Washington DC for more than 40 years. I first came to the District for college, and I stayed. What attracted me initially was politics and the federal government. I stayed because of the people - the folks who actually live here.
I have spent most of my career in nonprofits, particularly in those concerned with fighting poverty and increasing equity.
I’m married to Alan Alper, and am the mom of an 8-1/2-year-old Akita named Manny.
More will become apparent as time goes on.
For now, thanks for being here.
