Today, an African American woman was named to the nation’s highest court.
Just sit for a minute and let the goosebumps rise all over you.
Despite the absurd and hateful interrogation by Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, despite being asked to define “woman,” despite being asked to comment on books in the library of her daughters’ school, despite enduring actual snarls from a certain South Carolina Senator, this brilliant, accomplished, serene jurist made it to the top of the mountain.
The nation will be a better place because of this.
